    Here's Why Highway 20 Was Shut Down in Canton Thursday Morning

    Knox Bridge Highway is fully open again after it was closed at Oakdale Road in Canton due to a commercial vehicle fire, the Cherokee Sheriff's Office reports.

    According to Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services, firefighters were dispatched just after 8:30 a.m. Thursday to the fire. They found that a truck carrying straw that had ignited and was in flames.

    Firefighters have gotten the fire under control, but the highway remains closed.

    No injuries were reported.

    Cherokee County Public Works worked to help clear debris, and deputies worked with on traffic control.

    By 11:04 a.m., all lanes of the highway were open again, per the sheriff's office.
