On August 25, shortly after midnight, the North Forrest Volunteer Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire on I-59 South, just north of Evelyn Gandy Parkway, near Hattiesburg,

Upon arrival, firefighters found a ‘Western Star’ semi-car hauler on the highway shoulder, with nine passenger cars loaded. The back three vehicles were fully engulfed in flames.

Firefighters from the Macedonia Volunteer Fire Department were called in to assist with water supply operations. The teams worked tirelessly for approximately three and a half hours to bring the fire under control.

Thanks to their efforts, four-passenger cars and the semi-truck were saved from the blaze.

No injuries were reported in the incident. The North Forrest Volunteer Fire Department expressed gratitude to the Macedonia Volunteer Fire Department and the Mississippi Highway Patrol for their crucial assistance during the operation.
