Missing Kenner man found dead in drainage canal

A Kenner man who went missing on Friday night has been found dead in a drainage canal.

According to a Kenner Police Department spokesman, officers found Ephraim Miranda’s body in the canal that runs along Northwestern Street near Emerson Drive. The spokesman says Miranda’s body was discovered shortly after midnight Sunday morning, a little more than 24 hours after his family had reported him missing.

Investigators do not suspect foul play, but Miranda’s death remains under investigation. Police say they will release more information once the coroner’s office completes its autopsy on Miranda, 61.
