On Easter Sunday, April 4, a vehicle collision involving a Municipal Tarnsportation Agency (MTA) bus occurred at approximately 8 pm.

The collision took place on S Lorena St and East 8thh St in the Boyle Heights area of Los Angeles, right outside Delicias De El Salvador and Resurrection Catholic School.

First responders arrived on the scene of the accident approximately four minutes after the incident was reported.

At least two police vehicles and one ambulance were on the scene of the collision.

Five people were injured after the collision involving an MTA bus and a pickup truck.

Additional unites were requested to the scene to help close off the intersection while the roadway was cleared of the accident.

The roadway was adequately cleared just minutes later, though emergency responders remained on site.

In May 2020 another MTA bus crashed into a pole in South L.A. and resulted in six people injured.

According to Downtown LA Law Group, bus accidents may happen because of many factors. Factors include lack of training, blind spots, driving while impaired, reckless driving, issues with the bus, issues in the environment, and more.

Of course, the other car involved is part of the equation and could have been the cause of the accident.

At this time it is unknown what caused the bus and truck to collide.

While some observers believe the truck attempted to beat the bus, others guess at driver fatigue as a major cause of accidents, especially as COVID-19 continues wearing down essential workers.
