Getting lobsters high before boiling them

A chef on the East Coast is getting lobsters high with pot before cooking them. She feels it is a humane way for them to die.

A restaurant on the East Coast does not cook lobsters in the traditional way, which is boiling them alive. They are getting lobsters so stoned they might not give a damn.

The restaurant owner first tried the technique on a lobster named "Roscoe." After Roscoe was “hotboxed” he immediately chilled out. So, the restaurant started infusing the tank water with pot smoke. The restaurant cooked the lobsters at a very high heat, so the THC would break down and not be carried onto the customer.

Phishing Forum comment: never been high enough to not mind being boiled alive. ~CHEEZPUFF

In September 2018, the state asked the owner of the lobster restaurant to stop giving pot to lobsters. However, according to the restaurant's website, they are still helping lobsters die in a “humane” way by getting them high. They claim they have thoroughly researched and experimented with their process of what they call "High-end Lobsters.” No one seems to be able to find a law or code that pertains to the restaurant’s practices. The restaurant exclaims on its website:

Love, and the knowledge that life, in all its forms, is sacred. If we are going to take a life, we believe we have the obligation to do so as compassionately as possible.

It is our hope that practices incorporating cannabis, (where animals are part of the food chain), will become industry standards. This world has enough pain and suffering and it’s time to make it a better place.

We are going to do our part, by starting here, with this ONE thing.

PETA disagrees that medicating lobsters makes eating them more humane. They feel it is highly unlikely that getting a lobster high would make a difference. Jaren G. Horsley, Ph.D. comments on the PETA website: "as an invertebrate zoologist who has studied crustaceans for a number of years, I can tell you the lobster has a rather sophisticated nervous system that, among other things, allows it to sense actions that will cause it harm.”

What do you think about this? Do you think this is humane or ridiculous? Kindly let us know in the comments.
