Hartwell Celebrates Our Independence With Festival, Fireworks Saturday
The Hart County Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the Hartwell Service League is inviting everyone to their Pre-4th Weekend festival and kids’ Patriotic Parade. According to organizers, over 200 arts and craft vendors from across the area will be on hand Saturday in downtown Hartwell – a record for the Pre-4th festival, now in it’s 47-year.

Threaded Fasteners Acquires Georgia Business
Mobile-based Threaded Fasteners, Inc. has acquired Ricco Fasteners of Thomasville, Georgia. The move marks the 17th branch of Threaded Fasteners, which is owned entirely by its 350 employees and maintains more than $16 million worth of inventory. Threaded Fasteners said the integration of Ricco Fasteners will enable it to expand its current product offerings in Georgia as it continues to invest in additional locations across the U.S. “Together, we plan to utilize the current wide range of Ricco’s inventory and manufacturing capabilities to further expand our product offerings to the Thomasville and greater Georgia area,” said Jerrad Douberly, chief operating officer of Threaded Fasteners.

Immigrants in Georgia's detention centers will soon find it difficult to get lawyers to help them in immigration court, making it harder for many to avoid deportation. Legal and advocacy group the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) announced earlier this month that it will stop providing legal help to detained migrants in Georgia, which they have been doing since 2017, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
