Two arrested after shots fired in rural Jasper County
COLFAX, Iowa — Two Iowa men were arrested after a verbal altercation ended with shots fired. Authorities from the Jasper County Sheriff's Office, Colfax Police Department and Iowa State Patrol all responded to a report of shots fired on June 5. Norm Hopkins, 69, of Colfax, told authorities he had fired shots with a handgun at a vehicle operated by Ryan Doty, 42, of Altoona.

Marshalltown Woman Charged with Insurance Fraud
(Des Moines, Iowa) – Officials with the Iowa Insurance Division’s Fraud Bureau report, 35-year-old Amanda Manatt, of Marshalltown, was recently charged with one count of Insurance Fraud – Presenting False Information (Class D Felony).
