The Minnesota Vikings and free agent cornerback Stephon Gilmore have reportedly agreed to a one-year, $10 million deal, a source with knowledge of the situation confirmed to NFL Network 's Ian Rapoport on Sunday (August 18).

The reported agreement will reunite Gilmore, 33, who played for the Dallas Cowboys in 2023, with defensive coordinator Brian Flores , who previously worked as a linebackers coach during their shared tenure with the New England Patriots.

"The #Vikings are making a major free agent acquisition at a time when they rarely happen: Former Pro Bowl CB Stephon Gilmore is signing in Minnesota on a 1-year, $10M deal, source says. The ex- #Cowboys and #Patriots CB is back with DC Brian Flores," Rapoport wrote on his X account. "Minnesota has long been in the market for a big-time starting CB, while Gilmore has been patient and waited his time. Now, he lands with the Vikings after a successful visit recently."

Gilmore was among the NFL's best cornerbacks during his tenure with the Patriots, winning Super Bowl LIII and the 2019 NFL Defensive Player of the Year award, having tied with Anthony Harris and Tre'Davious White to lead the league with six interceptions, as well as being selected as a two-time first-team All-Pro (2018, 2019) and five-time Pro Bowler (2016, 2018-21). The 33-year-old recorded a career-best 68 tackles, as well as two interceptions and 13 passes defensed in 2023.
