Maine’s Largest Roller Coaster Is One of the Tallest in the U.S.
Our Pine Tree State is the largest in New England by land mass, and we’re also home to one of the largest roller coasters in the country!. We understand why roller coasters are so popular—they’re loved for the same reasons people enjoy scary movies. Both activities raise your blood pressure, thrill you, make you grip the edge of your seat, and make your heart race. To be fair, some folks avoid scary movies and roller coasters for those same reasons.
New Report: Maine Is One of the Most ‘Disaster-Ready’ States
According to a new study, our Pine Tree State is one of the most prepared and ready for a disaster. Listen, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Maine and Mainers are ready for a disaster—we’re ready for anything. We’re resilient. We face a lot: blizzards, bone-chilling cold temps, hurricane-force winds, flooding, and sometimes a mix of those all at once.
Befuddled Dads Stumped by Stroller in Unbelievable Viral Video
A popular video showing three dads' seemingly never-ending struggle to collapse a stroller has some questioning its legitimacy. Legit or not, it is absolutely hilarious. Are You Always Getting Maine Lobster at a Maine Restaurant?
There are serious perks to living in Maine. The biggest perk for me though, will always be Maine's abundance of fresh seafood. Living so near the coast pretty much guarantees that you'll be served seafood that is often hours old. There's nothing quite like going to an oceanside lobster pound, and having them pull fresh bugs, kicking their way out of the tank.

Is Maine the Only Place Where People Inhale While they Say ‘Yup’?
I've essentially lived in Maine my whole life. I've spent a lot of time in vans, traveling all over the country, and I've never really found myself having the urge to live anywhere else. If I even had the slightest notion, I'd notice pretty quickly that it was someplace that reminded me very much of home. But there's one thing you will only find in Maine, that doesn't exist anywhere... The Maine accent.

In Maine, Illegal Street Takeovers are Becoming a Serious Problem
I may or may not have friends who do things like this. To be fair, my friends are a bit older and their participation in activities like this is done a bit more safely. They have a tendency to head up to Maine's quieter highways up north, and open up their cars to rather excessive rates of speed. They also send spotter cars ahead. Not just to look for cops, but to know who else might be on the road. They prefer empty stretches of highway, as it's much safer.
