NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — The NYPD released video footage on Wednesday of a man accused of cutting a sleeping Queens subway rider's pockets and taking his wallet on Sunday.

It happened at approximately 6:30 a.m., while a 41-year-old man was on the Northbound 7 train and fell asleep, cops said.

According to officials, when the victim woke up at the 61 St-Woodside train station, he noticed that both of his pockets were cut open and his wallet was missing.

The suspect allegedly approached the victim on the train and took the man's wallet before fleeing the location to parts unknown.

There were no injuries reported as a result of this incident.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
