NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — Officials are investigating after two people, including a bystander were struck by gunfire in the Bronx early Friday morning.

It happened just before 1:30 a.m. when the victim was in a dispute with a group of men outside of 83 West Fordham Rd. in Fordham Heights, authorities said.

A 43-year-old man, who police believe was the intended target was struck once in the back. He was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital in critical but stable condition.

A short while later, a 37-year-old woman, who was a bystander, walked into St. Barnabas Hospital with a graze wound. She told police that she was closing up a store near the fight when she realized that she had some pain in her right leg.

"I don't know what happened. All I know is I was walking, I heard commotion and next thing I know I was shot in my leg," the woman said.

She said good Samaritans helped her and a stranger took her to the hospital.

There have been no arrests made and the investigation remains ongoing.
