Woman, 66, attacked at random on Brooklyn street corner

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — Police released a photo of a man accused repeatedly striking a woman in a random attack on a Brooklyn street corner on Sunday.

It happened at approximately 4:42 p.m., when a 66-year-old woman was standing at the intersection of East 40th Street and Hubbard Place in Flatlands, authorities said.

According to officials, the suspect approached the woman and struck her multiple times in the head then fled on foot westbound on Avenue K towards Flatbush Avenue.

The victim sustained a cut to the head. EMS transported her to Mount Sinai Hospital in stable condition.
