16-year-old killed, another teen injured after being struck by truck in Brooklyn

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – Two teenagers were struck by a turning truck in the Kensington neighborhood of Brooklyn on Monday afternoon, killing one of them, according to the NYPD.

The accident occurred as the teens were riding what appears to be a motorbike near the intersection of Coney Island Avenue and Ditmas Avenue. Police say the truck ran over the teens while making a turn.

One of the victims, a 16-year-old, has died from his injuries. The other teen, 15, is in stable condition at Maimonides Medical Center.

The driver of the truck remained at the scene following the incident.

An investigation is ongoing.
