    Man, 52, randomly attacked at Upper East Side subway station

    NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — Police released surveillance footage of a man they are looking to identify over a random attack that occurred at an Upper East Side subway station early Tuesday.

    At approximately 3:28 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 20, a 52-year-old man was standing on the northbound 6 train platform at the 96th Street train station when the suspect approached and struck him with an unknown object, officials said.

    He suffered a cut to the right side of his neck.

    The suspect then fled the train station to parts unknown.

    The victim was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

    The suspect was last seen wearing a green shirt and red sweatpants.
