NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A Bronx man faces an animal cruelty charge after he allegedly admitted to biting his dog on the Upper East Side over the weekend.

Someone reportedly called 911 after witnessing Jilian Teixeria, 24, biting his female pet pit bull at 150 E. 86th St. around 7:15 p.m. Saturday after the dog got off her leash.

According to court documents obtained by the Daily News , he told responding officers he bites his dog as discipline, saying, “That’s what I do. I bite my dog.”

He was arrested without incident and faces a charge of torturing and injuring an animal.

He was held without bail because he'd failed to appear in court for open cases of shoplifting and assault, according to the report.

The dog, who was reportedly bleeding and yelping in pain, was taken to an animal hospital for treatment.
