NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are searching for a man accused of shoving a man to the ground then slashing him on a Bronx street during a dispute over ice cream.

The attack happened Monday at the northwest corner of Middletown Road and Bruckner Boulevard in Pelham Bay.

Police said two men were arguing over a "payment for ice cream" when the man hawking the ice cream began punching the victim.

The victim fell to the ground, and the attacker pulled out a knife and slashed him on the back of the head, police said.

The suspect fled on foot, northbound on Bruckner Boulevard.

EMS transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi in stable condition.

The suspect was last seen wearing a black Nike hat, blue t-shirt, blue sweatpants and white sneakers.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
