    Man robbed of sneakers in knockout mugging in Queens

    NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police on Thursday released a photo of two men accused of knocking out a man during a sneaker mugging on a Queens street last month.

    It happened at approximately 9 p.m. on Monday, July 22, in front of 35-59 Junction Blvd. in North Corona, cops said.

    According to officials, a 22-year-old man was approached by two the suspects who struck him on the head, causing him to fall to the ground and lose consciousness.

    The suspects then proceeded to forcefully remove his sneakers and cash from the victim’s person and fled the location on foot.

    The victim was transported to an area hospital and treated for pain and abrasions to the face.
