Man robbed during Facebook Marketplace meetup in the Bronx

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are searching for a man accused of robbing a man at knifepoint during a Facebook Marketplace meetup in the Bronx earlier this month, authorities said.

At approximately 7:20 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 13, the 34-year-old man was approached by the suspect in front of 2384 Grand Concourse in Fordham Heights.

The suspect and the victim had agreed on Facebook Marketplace to meet up and make a purchase for a chain, authorities said.

According to officials, the suspect approached the victim and displayed a knife before snatching the chain from the victim’s hand.

The suspect fled the location in a gray Honda Accord traveling northbound on Grand Concourse to parts unknown.

The victim did not sustain any injuries.

The suspect was last seen wearing a white baseball cap, a black t-shirt, black jeans, and white sneakers.
