Off-duty NYPD officer arrested on DWI after Bronx crash

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — An off-duty NYPD officer was arrested early Wednesday for allegedly driving under the influence and crashing into a parked car in the Bronx, authorities said.

According to officials, Xiomara Goodsell, 32, was arrested at approximately 1:47 a.m. near Bruckner Boulevard after crashing into an unoccupied parked car. Police said that Goodsell refused to take a breath test but smelled of alcohol and slurred her speech.

Goodsell, who has been an officer since 2017, was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while ability impaired and refusal to take a breath test.

No one was injured in the crash, cops said.
