Large group brutally beats man near Times Square

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A group of men viciously beat a man steps from Times Square on Sunday night, police said.

The victim, a 27-year-old man, was assaulted around 9:20 p.m. at West 40th Street and Broadway.

He was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue to be treated for his injuries, which included lacerations to his left eye.

Multiple male suspects fled on foot, police said. They were last seen headed southbound on Broadway.

Police don’t believe any weapons were used in the beating.

It's unclear what prompted the attack. Similar assaults have been reported in the area in recent months.
