Armed man robs 14-year-old girl in the Bronx

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police on Thursday released surveillance footage of an armed man accused of robbing a 14-year-old girl on a Bronx street.

Just after 7 a.m., on Wednesday, Sept. 11, the teen girl was in front of 213 East 198th Street in Jerome Park when she was approached from behind by the suspect who snatched her necklace, authorities said.

When the victim turned around, the suspect flashed a firearm and the victim dropped her cellphone. He then took the cellphone and fled the location on foot, traveling northbound on Valentine Avenue, cops said.

The property stolen was valued at approximately $2,600, according to officials.

The suspect is believed to be approximately 27 to 33 years old and was last seen wearing all black clothing.
