Doctor accused of sexually abusing patients at Queens office

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A doctor has been charged with sexually abusing a patient at an urgent care in Queens after being released in a similar case last year.

The NYPD released a photo Wednesday of Dr. Amir Sitafalwalla as the Queens D.A. and NYPD Special Victims Squad investigate the allegations and seek other potential victims.

Sitafalwalla, 72, of Manhasset, was arrested Sept. 9 and charged with forcible touching and sexual abuse in connection with a recent incident involving a 21-year-old male patient at the ModernMD Urgent Care on Jamaica Avenue in Woodhaven, police said.

The alleged abuse came after Sitafalwalla was released without bail in March 2023 on similar charges connected to an incident at the same urgent care facility in January of that year.

In two complaints from the Queens D.A., Sitafalwalla is accused of inappropriately touching or kissing young men in exam rooms with the doors closed.

A receptionist at the urgent care on Wednesday said the doctor no longer worked there and asked a WINS reporter to leave the office.

An attorney for Sitafalwalla did not return a request for comment.

Sitafalwalla was released after posting $10,000 bail. He's due back in court for both cases on Nov. 13.

"The Queens District Attorney's Office and the Queens Special Victims Squad are investigating these allegations and have specially trained professionals who can speak with victims in a safe environment," the NYPD said.
