It's coming up Thurs., Sept. 26 at Manhattan's 25th Street Plaza, presented by the Schwarzman Animal Medical Center's Usdan Institute for Animal Health Education. It will feature live music, a photo booth, giveaways and a concert by the Highline String Quartet, which is known for their classical spin on contemporary hits including songs from Michael Jackson, Earth, Wind & Fire and more.

"There are several studies in shelter dogs showing that classical music lowers heart rates and promotes relaxation," Usdan Institute Director Michelle Leifer told 1010 WINS. "There's also the benefit of the shared experience of listening to music together, which can strengthen the bond between pets and their owners."

The Usdan Institute is the education arm of the Schwarzman Animal Medical Center, a 24/7 emergency animal hospital on Manhattan's Upper East Side. Its goal is to educate and empower owners by making information more accessible through online infographics, a pet health library and monthly free webinars hosted by AMC Veterinarians, where people can learn about complex medical conditions, which are broken down in an easy to understand way.

The concert will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. ET on the 25th Street Plaza, on East 25th between Third & Lexington avenues in Manhattan. The Highline String Quartet will perform two sets from 5 p.m. - 5:45 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. - 7 p.m.
