NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The Department of Investigation searched the New York City sheriff's offices in Queens on Thursday, after city officials said Sheriff Anthony Miranda learned of unvouchered cash being held and reported it to his supervisors.

Sources confirmed to 1010 WINS that the DOI searched the offices, located at 30-10 Starr Ave. in Long Island City, on Thursday.

The DOI activity was not the execution of an official search warrant, as city agency offices are allowed to be searched, sources said.

A City Hall spokesperson confirmed the search and told 1010 WINS that it was initiated by Miranda himself, who became aware of unverified cash being held and reported what he found.

“Sheriff Miranda learned of seemingly unvouchered cash held in safe boxes and self-reported the incident to his supervisors,” the spokesperson said. “His supervisors then reported this to the Department of Investigation. We expect every city employee to follow proper procedures."

The search comes only days after reports began circulating that the sheriff’s office is being probed over possible improper cash seizures during the shutdown of illegal smoke shops, and the day after Mayor Eric Adams was indicted on public corruption charges.

The DOI declined 1010 WINS’ request for comment.

I love watching this all fall apart for the Dems. Trying to make shit up on Trump meanwhile their corruption is off the hook. The only thing scary about this is they're so so afraid of Trump draining the swamp that they'll probably keep trying to take him out.

The entire city should be investigated.
