    Man wanted for stealing, cutting up Pride flag from Queens bar, making threatening calls

    NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD on Wednesday released surveillance footage of a man in pink pants accused of stealing and cutting up Pride flag from Queens bar then making threatening calls last month.

    It happened at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 6, inside of a bar located at 45-01 23 Ave. in Astoria, officials said.

    According to police, the suspect tore down a LGBTQIA+ flag from the location and cut it up with a knife.

    The man then began calling, messaging, and threatening workers at the establishment using anti-gay slurs.

    No injuries were reported.

    The investigation remains ongoing by NYPD's Hate Crimes Unit.
