NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police on Friday released a photo of a scooter rider accused of beating another driver then stealing the license plate before fleeing a Brooklyn crash scene last month.

It happened at approximately 1:15 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 20, in the vicinity of East 17th Street and Chestnut Avenue in Midwood, authorities said.

According to officials, a 35-year-old man was operating a 3-wheeled vehicle when he collided with a 2-wheel scooter operated by the suspect.

After refusing to exchange vehicle information, the suspect struck the victim in the face multiple times with a closed fist causing the victim to sustain a minor laceration to the right side of the face, police said.

The suspect then removed the victim's license plate and fled northbound on East 17th Street on the 2-wheeled vehicle.

The victim was treated on scene for his injuries.

The suspect has long brown hair and was last seen wearing a blue jacket and black shirt.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
