Knife-wielding shoplifter stabs Bronx store worker in neck and head

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police released surveillance footage of a knife-wielding shoplifter accused of stabbing a Bronx store worker in the neck and head over the weekend.

It happened at approximately 1 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13, inside of 91 Westchester Sq. as a 25-year-old store employee attempted to stop the suspect from taking property, authorities said.

According to officials, the suspect displayed a knife and stabbed the victim in the neck, arm, and head.

EMS transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospital/Jacobi in critical condition.

The suspect fled location on foot. He is believed to be approximately 50 years of age and was last seen wearing a gray jacket and black pants.
