NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police on Wednesday released video surveillance of a man accused of bashing a subway rider over the head with a skateboard on a Forest Hills train last month.

At approximately 3 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 16, a 36-year-old man was seated on a southbound E train approaching the 71st Ave-Forest Hills subway station when he was approached by the suspect.

According to officials, he attempted to remove property from the victim’s pocket and the victim began to record him on his cellphone.

The suspect then grabbed a skateboard from another train passenger and struck the victim in the head with it, cops said.

He then fled the train station to parts unknown.

The victim was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
