Man, 18, gunned down on Brooklyn basketball court

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A young man was critically wounded Wednesday evening in a shooting on a basketball court in Brooklyn, police said as they took a person of interest into custody.

The 18-year-old victim was shot in the neck around 5:40 p.m. on the court at the Bildersee Playground in Canarsie.

He was rushed to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition.

Citizen App video shows police and EMS responding to the scene at E. 81st Street and Flatlands Avenue as a crowd gathers.

A person of interest was taken into custody, while a motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
