NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A Long Island man who allegedly pretended to be a Homeland Security officer was arrested on Sunday, according to the Nassau County Police Department.

Seth Newman, 21, activated amber flashing lights and a siren while driving a black 2021 Dodge Charger near Marcus Avenue in New Hyde Park at around 12 p.m., according to police.

Newman was seen with what appeared to be a black handgun located near his hip and identified himself as a Homeland Security officer, according to police.

A short time later, police found him in the parking lot of King Kullen in Garden City Park and placed him under arrest without incident.

Newman is charged with criminal impersonation and criminal possession of a weapon.

Detectives request anyone who feels they may have been a victim of a similar
incident to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS or to dial 911.

I don’t understand impersonating these days. Just apply The United States has a shortage in all law enforcement these days but people want to do what they want. Go earn a pension
