Today on The Mike Calta Show, Galvin mentioned KISS and their preference for tall band members. Mike chimed in, saying he doesn’t like anything about KISS. Years ago, KISS contacted Marty Friedman, a former Megadeth guitarist, when they were looking for a new member. Despite his talent, Marty didn’t make it past the phone interview because he was 5′7″, and they wanted someone over six feet tall. FUN FACT: Pap Pap and Spanish will never be in KISS!

Oasis fans believe the band’s “exact US tour dates” have leaked through a now-deleted photo shared on social media. The black-and-white image hints at concerts in New York, Chicago, Boston, and Mexico City.. The leak suggests the band will play in Toronto on August 24-25, Chicago on August 27-28, and New York on August 30-31. Geo suggested going to the rumored Boston date, but Mike said he’d only go to the New York show because he hates Boston. Will there be a Florida date, and are any of these “leaks” even legit? Before he allegedly killed four members of his family with a pump-action shotgun, a New York auto mechanic displayed obvious signs of distress and issued threats that were the talk of his neighborhood, but police said no one told them. The quadruple homicide in the Long Island town of Syosset might have been avoided had someone with knowledge of the mental health issues 59-year-old Joseph DeLucia Jr. exhibited leading up to Sunday's killing had called 911. "As a community, we hear things, we know things, we see things. If we don't say something, sometimes the outcomes are like what we got [Sunday]," Nassau Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder said at a news conference on Monday. Ryder said if police had known of DeLucia's condition, they might have been able to enforce New York's "red flag" laws, enabling them to seize the Mossberg 12-gauge shotgun before he allegedly used it to fatally shoot his family members and himself.

Police in Iowa are warning residents to stay away from a "dangerous," injured water buffalo that has been on the loose since Saturday. The Pleasant Hill Police Department said officers had responded to a call Saturday about an "animal in the road" in the city, located about six miles east of Des Moines. The animal turned out to be an "aggressive" water buffalo, according to its owner, police said. The police department said an officer shot the animal, injuring it, after the water buffalo showed "aggressiveness" toward responding officers. The animal was then able to escape, police said. Officers were working with the Des Moines Animal Control to contain the animal and return it to its owner's property, though did not have "tranquilizers or equipment to handle such a unique situation," the police department said in a statement Monday on Facebook.

A circuit court judge granted a former Florida deputy $100,000 bond for pre-trial release on Thursday in connection with the shooting death of U.S. Air Force Sr. Airman Roger Fortson who was killed in his own home in May. Eddie Duran, 38, was denied pretrial release in his first court appearance on Tuesday at the Okaloosa County Circuit Court. In Thursday's hearing, Duran, who appeared before a judge in person, avoided the $250,000 bond amount asked by the state but was denied the $10,000 requested by his attorneys. The Okaloosa County Circuit Court ruled that Duran cannot possess any firearms, come into contact with Fortson's family or leave the First Judicial Circuit area of Florida, outside of special circumstances that may be allowed by the court if they come up, according to the judge. Duran was arrested on Monday after the Florida state attorney filed one count of manslaughter with a firearm against him last Friday. The charge carries a maximum sentence of 30 years.

As the jury's foreperson read out the guilty verdict, former Clark County public administrator Robert Telles looked down and shook his head. Telles was sentenced to life in prison with eligibility for parole after a minimum of 20 years served. In a press conference after the verdict was announced, Clark County District Attorney Steven Wolfson thanked the jury for their work on the case.

DNA evidence from a discarded cigarette has helped investigators finally solve the murder of a 33-year-old woman in Washington state after 44 years. Kenneth Kundert was arrested in Arkansas on a nationwide murder warrant out of Washington, police said. He is expected to be charged with first-degree murder, according to a spokesperson for the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. His bail is set at $3 million and he is awaiting extradition, according to police. On Feb. 23, 1980, after 10 p.m. Dorothy "Dottie" Maria Silzer left work at a pizza place to head home. That was the last time she was seen alive, according to police.
