That ended when the 24th ranked Tigers stopped them in Baton Rouge. Fast forward to the 2024 version of the game…the #9 Rebs were feeling frisky and looking at a College Football Playoff berth. While the 13th Ranked LSU Tigers were still scrambling to patch up both offensive and defensive units that have been stricken with injuries. Honestly, a lot of fans were losing hope in LSU competing for a College Football Playoff spot. Then Saturday happened. LSU didn’t blow the doors off Ole Miss, they didn’t really embarrass them in any way. The game required LSU to push hard to tie the game up at the end of regulation, and play for overtime.
