Pioneering Americas Fastest Growing Sport
I learned something today that got me very excited. The fastest-growing sport in America was born here in Washington on Bainbridge Island on a sunny Saturday afternoon in 1965. They didn't have enough equipment for badminton, so they improvised and brought ping pong paddles and a rubber ball with slats to an old badminton court at the edge of their property. Over the course of two weekends and with the addition of another dad, and I can only assume more than three beers, the invention of pickleball entered the world.
