Michael Rubin has come to Meek Mill’s defense amid rumors questioning the rapper’s sexuality. Rubin, who is the CEO of Fanatics, addressed the speculation during a recent interview. He strongly denied the rumors, stating, “There’s not a gay bone in his body.”

Rubin expressed frustration with the rumors, especially given the viral clip of Meek doing bunny hops on a tennis court with Rubin in 2021. “When I see these narratives about Meek, I just don’t get it,” Rubin said. “If he was gay, which he’s not, who cares? It’s 2024—why should it matter? But he isn’t, so why are people spreading these lies? It feels like people are trying to twist a bet he made with me into something negative.”

Rubin also touched on a broader issue, saying, “One thing I don’t like about Black culture is this self-inflicted hate.” He was reacting to the backlash Meek received after the bunny hop video went viral.

The rumors about Meek Mill’s sexuality began circulating again this year following an accusation that he had a sexual relationship with Diddy. In February, Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, a producer who worked on Diddy’s The Love Album: Off the Grid , accused Diddy of sexual harassment, drugging, and threats. The lawsuit included a note that mentioned “a Philadelphia rapper who dated Nicki Minaj,” which led many to speculate that Meek was the rapper in question.

Meek Mill responded to the speculation by explaining the bunny hop game he created while in prison. He linked to a video featuring rappers DThang and Tdot, saying, “This is a game I started in prison. It was a way to get tough guys to do bunny hops as a form of playful punishment.”

Rubin’s comments come as a strong defense of Meek, rejecting the rumors and emphasizing his support for his friend amidst the controversy.
