The battle for the Cowboys' starting job at left tackle between first-round pick Tyler Guyton and Chuma Edoga appears to be over after test results confirmed that Edoga suffered a broken toe in the team's preseason opener against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, according to 105.3 The Fan's Bobby Belt.

Edoga is expected to miss the next four-to-six weeks, with the earliest possible return date coming after the Cowboys' season opener in Cleveland.

Edoga exited the game after injuring his toe in the first quarter and was reportedly seen wearing a walking boot after the game, per Patrik Walker of DallasCowboys.com .

Edoga's injury will allow for Guyton to get more work in practice to prepare to be the team's starter in Week 1, but his injury also puts the Cowboys in a difficult spot, as one of the two linemen was expected to serve as the primary swing tackle this season.
