The Grim Reaper Will Soon Visit Five Stop & Shops in Connecticut
Gosh darn it, after avoiding Stop & Shop for decades, the one location that recently lured me back as a shopper is on it's way out, as well as four others in Connecticut. The Stop & Shop supermarkets in Waterbury, Watertown, and Naugatuck turned me off so many times that I stopped going to any of their locations for years. I moved to Torrington 3 years ago, and guess what's a mile away from my place? The Stop & Shop located at 211 High Street in downtown Torrington. It's a relic, the soda aisle usually smelled like old fish, but it's a big store that has anything you want in stock, unlike Cumby, Dollar General, or the corner bodega. Well, my store is closing for good by November 2, 2024. In fact, five Stop & Shop supermarkets in Connecticut have been marked for permanent closure according to nbcconnecticut.com.
