A few more Upstate school districts have announced plans to change their schedules due to the upcoming solar eclipse. Cherokee and Abbeville County School will both have e-learning days on April 8th.

Laurens District 55 says it will be having early dismissal from school that same day. The eclipse is expected to happen in the afternoon when schools would normally dismiss, and thus many districts see that as a safety hazard.

In Abbeville County the district will be pushing all after school activities and athletics to a start time of after 4 PM. Cherokee County is doing similar but has decided on a 5PM or later start time.

Laurens County District 55 says elementary students will be dismissed at 1130, with middle school at 1145 and High School students being let out at noon.

This comes after Greenville and Spartanburg County Districts have already announced an e-learning day for April 8th.
