Suspect dead following multi-state chase over the weekend

A suspect is dead after apparently taking his own life during a multi-state chase. The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office say a chase that began in Rutherford County, North Carolina over the weekend moved across the state line.

That's when the Sheriff's Office and Chesnee Police Department became involved. Stop sticks were used to disable the suspects vehicle after he refused to stop along Hwy 11.

The suspect who has been identified as 23 year old, Jaden Kain Beheler of Forest City reportedly shot himself before the vehicle crashed. The Coroner's Office has ruled his death to be from a self inflicted gunshot wound.
