Death toll climbs in Buncombe County following Hurricane Helene

Residents in Western North Carolina continue to deal with the impact of Hurricane Helene. 40 people have died in Buncombe County, officials confirmed that, Monday.

Sheriff Quentin Miller held a briefing yesterday and said there has been a few cases of looting there. Four water distribution centers have been established in Buncombe County.

Those locations are Estes and Sandhill Elementary Schools in Asheville, North Windy Ridge School in Weaverville and the Elementary School in Fairview.
