A Spartanburg man will spend more than a decade in prison for trafficking cocaine. 39 year old, Maurice Suber entered a guilty plea Thursday to a federal charge of conspiring to distribute cocaine.

Court evidence showed that Suber distributed cocaine in the Highland Neighborhood on Spartanburg over the last few years. A search warrant executed at Suber's home in late 2022 turned up guns and cash.

Court records show Suber had a previous conviction of conspiring to distribute cocaine. He has been sentenced to nearly 12 years in federal prison. The judge also ordered a forfeiture of nearly 4 million dollars.

what does a 4 million dollar forfeiture mean? did they find 4 million dollars on him or his house? I know they have to prosecute drug dealers but what about Purdue pharmaceutical they were charged with knowing oxycontin was more addictive than they reported and they spurred the opioid epidemic by giving doctors and pharmacy all this incentive to push pain pills on people who really could have gotten by without them. you don't need 30 pain pills when u get a tooth pulled. nobody in that family owned company did any kind of jail time.
