If you don’t think the NFL is the king of sports content, well, they’ve expanded to Fridays now at times and pretty much run the news cycle…especially here in DC, where we know the Commanders are your No. 1 obsession year-round.

Speaking of the Commanders, The Junks were a little bit bummed Thursday morning that they have to wait until Monday, and stay up late on that night, to see their burgundy and gold this early in the season.

“I'm a little bit bummed that the Commanders don't play until Monday. I kinda wanna see that game on Sunday,” Cakes said. “Early season, feels like the Commanders-Bengals should be like a 1 p.m. kickoff, but you gotta wait until Monday night.”

“Well, it also sucks because you've got to stay up late,” Bish shot back. “I will try and watch a little bit of it live, but then I'll get up early Tuesday morning, I'll go right through all the commercials in the halftime and I'll watch it in about 45 minutes. I gotta know what happened in the game.”

Cakes isn’t a fan of fast forward, because “I’m committed to watching the Commanders game for three hours, like on a Sunday, and I like the halftime break and the commercials. It lets me go do whatever I need to do for three or four minutes.”

“You don’t even have to fast forward now because if you have just a skip, you just have 15 seconds and what do you miss, the huddle?” JP shot back. “You can see every play. If you’re not able to watch it live, or you’re like Jason and can’t stay up past 9:30?”

“I think you miss a lot of the nuances,” was Drab’s reply, as Cakes said “there's an ebb and flow to NFL games that I like watching live.”

That led Bish to ask the guys if they’ll still watch Commanders games when the day comes that The Sports Junkies are no longer on radio…and the consensus was of course, so yes, content is king.

“I’ll still do fantasy too – I’ll be in an assisted living facility and then I'll have the nurse come, help me set my lineup, and hope she's abreast as to what's going on in the NFL!” Cakes joked.
