NWS: Watch Out for Rain and Gusty Winds This Weekend

“We also can’t rule out that a few storms couldn’t produce damaging winds early into the day Saturday, especially as things develop in the afternoon. The main impacts to outdoor activities are going to be locally heavy rainfall and the cloud-to-ground lightning in addition to the winds,” said Mike Ryan, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Indianapolis.

Ryan says the biggest thing that might bother you is the heat and humidity.

“That humidity will linger through the weekend, but then we’ll revert back to a nice, pleasant stretch of weather as we head into next week,” said Ryan.

Highs will be in the upper 70s into the low 80s with low humidity starting Sunday.

“Our confidence is pretty high that most, if not all, of next week is going to be dry. I think it will be a really really nice week,” said Ryan.
