Foster Promoted From Indy NXT To Drive For RLL In 2025

ZIONSVILLE, Ind. — The reigning champion of the Indy NXT Series will be getting his first crack at the top of the ladder in North American open-wheel racing.

Louis Foster, a native of Hampshire, England, and a driver who won eight of the 14 races on the Indy NXT calendar en route to the 2024 championship with Andretti Global, is graduating from the developmental series and has signed to drive for Rahal-Letterman-Lanigan in 2025.

“I am really looking forward to working with the team,” Foster said. “Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing has Indy 500 victories, obviously Bobby has won an Indy 500 and there is a great wealth of knowledge with the team. I want to thank Bobby, David, and Mike for their faith in my abilities and I want to thank all my sponsors who have helped me achieve my dream of driving in IndyCar, in particular Copart.”

Copart is expected to be a big part of his future sponsorship deal with the team, which will be announced at a later date, says RLL.

Foster, who is 21, has quickly risen through the ranks of open-wheel racing both in Europe and North America. he began as a professional in 2017 racing three seasons in the Ginetta Junior Championship in England.

His runner-up finish in the championship in the Ginetta Series turned heads and he quickly moved to British Formula 4 and Formula 3. He then found footing in the IndyCar ladder winning the championship in the Indy Pro 2000 Series in his first season in 2022.

The last two years he’s seen success with Andretti Global in the Indy NXT Series winning 10 races over two seasons, and (as mentioned), the 2024 series title.

“We are very pleased that we have been able to come to an agreement with Louis to have him drive for the team for the next several years,” said RLL co-owner Bobby Rahal. He obviously dominated INDY NXT in 2024 and we feel he has a big future ahead of him.”
