With out-of-region games and inter-conference matchups, and even an old rivalry or two, Week 1 of the high school football season in Northern Kentucky is often as interesting and attractive as any all season. The 15 games for all 21 teams this weekend make that clear.

15 games get high school football off to a flying start this weekend

In terms of matchups with national interest and rankings implications, this week may be the biggest of the 2024 high school football season. There are five games featuring MaxPreps Top 25 teams going head-to-head with two kicking off Thursday. Last week, there were six ranked teams in action and that number jumps to 20 this week.

Sandy Paws Rescue Inc., a foster-based rescue organization in Massachusetts, has recently introduced a dog named Blazer who is looking for his forever home. According to the nonprofit rescue organization, Blazer has had quite a journey. “Blazer was one of 7 dogs ‘saved’ by another rescue down in Texas and when he was just a young puppy. Then, he was abandoned by this ‘rescue’ and left in a boarding kennel for 9 months. He is now a little over a year old, and 55lbs.” Thanks to Sandy Paws Rescue Inc. for stepping in to help Blazer, he is now on the path to finding a family to love him.
