Highway 87 in High Island reopens as Entergy continues to work on restoring power to the Bolivar Peninsula
BOLIVAR PENINSULA, Texas — On the Bolivar Peninsula in Galveston County, more than 6,200 customers are still without power. Entergy crews have been racing to restore power and clear power-poles from Highway 87. Around 5:30 p.m. April Loftin, the President of the High Island Volunteer Fire Department told 12News that the highway has been reopened.

PORT ARTHUR, Texas — A 48-year-old man who was set to face trial for the 2021 death of a Port Arthur woman has changed his plea to guilty. Lonnie Rogers is charged with manslaughter in connection with the death of 27-year-old Madison Martinez. Police believe Martinez died after being thrown from a moving vehicle.

Four arrested for driving while intoxicated, others arrested for public intoxication during July 4th celebration
