The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife embarks on a significant scientific endeavor, calling upon Ohioans to assist in tracking elusive furbearing species. This initiative, spearheaded by the state’s wildlife biologists, focuses on gathering crucial data on gray foxes, river otters, black bears, and other notable furbearers. Citizens are encouraged to contribute by submitting reports through the Wildlife Reporting System on wildohio.gov or the HuntFish OH mobile app. This citizen science approach is pivotal for wildlife biologists to monitor and understand the populations of these secretive creatures.
Funding Comes Together For The Mill On Flax
The $40-million project will build 162 apartment units plus a 10,000-square-foot commercial building. The Mill on Flax, a transformative mixed-use project in Delaware’s burgeoning Riverfront District, has secured additional construction loan funding and is moving ahead to begin vertical construction this winter, thanks to a diverse team of community-based support.

Noon Jan. 15 – The 31st annual MLK Celebration, in the Benes Rooms of Ohio Wesleyan’s Hamilton-Williams Campus Center, 40 Rowland Ave., Delaware. Doors will open at 11 a.m. for the hour-long commemoration that begins at noon. Hasan Jeffries, Ph.D., associate professor of history at The Ohio State University and author of “Bloody Lowndes: Civil Rights and Black Power in Alabama’s Black Belt,” will serve as the keynote speaker. Tracy Townsend, WBNS-10TV “Wake Up CBUS” news anchor and medical correspondent, will serve as emcee. The event will include refreshments, a performance by the Columbus Adventist Academy Children’s Choir, directed by Tamaria Kulameka, and a spoken word presentation by OWU senior Tymir Hill. Individual breakfast tickets are $25 and event sponsorships are $240 for a table of eight. Proceeds support the Delaware County MLK Scholarship Program. Olentangy Schools Propose Major Funding Initiative
According to the Board, the rationale behind this dual-faceted levy is clear. In late October the Olentangy Schools Board of Education took a decisive step towards addressing the district’s burgeoning needs in the face of rapid growth. The Board unanimously approved a resolution to place a significant funding measure on the March 19, 2024, ballot. This resolution, in line with section 5705.218 of the Ohio Revised Code, proposes a combined 4.25 mill levy comprising a 3.00 mill operating levy and a 1.25 mill permanent improvement levy.
