The Black Girls in Media Conference is returning to New York for its second in-person event. This jam-packed conference promises to be a groundbreaking experience for Black women in the media industry.

Something that started as a small GroupMe chat by founder Tasha McCaskiel blossomed into a community of over 90,000 women. Each woman is dedicated to supporting and uplifting each other in the competitive world of media. The upcoming conference will be an immersive two-day event . There, attendees can network, learn and be inspired by some of the most influential voices in the industry.

This year’s conference, hosted by Jim Beam Black, is more than just a networking event. It’s a celebration of Black women who are making waves in media. The lineup of speakers is impressive, featuring industry leaders, such as Black Enterprise’s Senior Editor Sidnee Michelle, Teen Vogue’s Culture Editor Kaitlyn McNabb, Byrdie’s Beauty Editor Olivia Hancock, and 21Ninety writer Zayna Allen, along with many more. These women will share their insights and experiences. Their panels will offer invaluable advice to attendees who are looking to carve out their own paths in media.

A Platform for Growth and Inspiration

Tasha McCaskiel, the visionary behind Black Girls in Media, couldn’t be more excited about this year’s event.

“It’s truly a blessing to see Black Girls in Media grow organically over the past six years,” McCaskiel said, reflecting on the growth of the organization in a statement. “What began as an informal networking group chat has evolved into a global organization, connecting hundreds of thousands of women to their dream careers.”

Her passion and dedication have turned BGIM into a powerful platform for minority women professionals. The second annual conference is a testament to her vision.

The BGIM Conference is not just about professional development. It’s about creating a community where Black women can find support, encouragement and opportunities to thrive. The event offers a unique chance for women to connect offline, building relationships that can propel their careers forward. With a full itinerary of panels, workshops and networking sessions, attendees will leave the conference feeling empowered. They will also be ready to take on new challenges.
