Why Isn’t Vin Diesel Married Yet?

One of the world’s highest-grossing actors, Vin Diesel has been the most recognizable movie star since the 90s. From the “Fast and Furious” franchise to Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” movies, he’s the action genre’s go-to leading man. So who’s his leading woman? Diesel and his partner Paloma Jiménez have actually been together since 2007. They’re sharing three kids and nearly two decades worth of memories. Yet, he hasn’t quite put a ring on it.

Here’s a closer look at their otherwise private relationship , from when they met to where they are now.

Who Is Paloma Jiménez?

Born on August 22nd, 1983 in Acapulco, Mexico, Paloma Jiménez is a Mexican model who had a very successful career in the fashion industry before meeting her superstar husband. Alongside the many runways she’s strutted, she was also cover girl for Maxim Mexico in January 2005 and Max Mexico in August 2006. In November 2004, the model also made an appearance on the Mexican comedy and variety show “Otro Rollo con: Adal Ramones.” The two have never disclosed exactly how they met, though Diesel shared that he was intentional in choosing his baby mama. “While I was doing “Pacifier,” it really started to bring out this desire to have a child,” he said in 2008. “It took a couple years after that to find the right person and to hopefully be mature enough to be a great father which is really all you want to do.”

With no active social media profiles and very few public appearances, besides accompanying Diesel on red carpets, Jiménez has made it a point to maintain a private life. So private, in fact, that news of their first child broke only after her birth on April 2nd, 2008. Both parents shared that they wanted to protect the privacy of the occasion as much as possible.

They’re Parents

Diesel and Jiménez are parents to three children: Hania “Similce” Riley (born in 2008), Vincent (born in 2010), and Pauline (born in 2015). Diesel is a self-proclaimed family man, sharing “Someone once told me that, when you have a child, it opens up parts of your heart that you never knew existed. And it is so true.”

Not only have his children shown up in support during red-carpet premieres, but they’ve also dipped their toe in the film industry themselves. Hania starred in “Fast and Furious: Spy Racers,” the franchise’s first animated series, while Vincent played a younger version of his dad in “F9.”

Their youngest child Pauline was actually named after Diesel’s late co-star Paul Walker, who tragically passed away in 2013. “He was in the room when she was born” Diesel shared during a 2015 appearance on the Today show. “There’s no other person that I was thinking about as I was cutting this umbilical cord. I just … knew he was there. It felt like a way to keep his memory a part of my family and a part of my world.” His family also maintains a close relationship with Walker’s daughter Meadow, whom Diesel was named the godfather of. He even walked her down the aisle at her 2021 wedding.

They’re Not Married

With his only previous relationship being co-star Michelle Rodriguez in 2001, it’s clear that Diesel took his time finding the one. But though their relationship spans 16 years and a happy family, Diesel and Jiménez have not yet tied the knot. Whether it was a mutual decision to put the idea of marriage aside or Diesel’s apprehension to make things more official remains unclear, though ultimately, they’re living life on their terms and are seemingly happy to do so.
