Building off the slight successes that I had along that stretch. Having fun, laughing, the same way I've always played the game. Laughing, having a good time and playing loose."Sosa on his home run"I didn't know I got that. I didn't know I got it out. I took off running and I actually lost the ball. I saw the umpire point up and wave around. I was like 'oh alright, sure. That'll work.' It was super cool. Seeing all the NC State fans over here. We're not playing at home but we felt at home. At least I felt at home."Avent on team's approach to postseason"What we did -- I think it might have been at <a href="https://247sports.com/college/east-carolina/">East Carolina</a> on the road -- after the game we got together there in the dugout and looked at the great crowd and tried to think 'from here on out everything is going to be a postseason game.' Therefore when we get in the postseason, it's how we play every game. They've done that the rest of the season."We went to the <a href="https://247sports.com/college/virginia/">Virginia</a> series at Virginia against a great Virginia team in that great ballpark and crowd. We reiterated the same concept that every game from then on out is going to be a team that will either be in a regional, super regional or in Omaha. We've got to approach every game the same inning through inning and play with the same intensity. That's what they've done. They've done a remarkable job."Avent on abundance of offense to start postseason"We've been grinding at-bats, as Alex said, for a long time now. We've got a good offensive team. It's a long season. You go through -- this guy went through a lot. He went through mono. Then he went through the flu. He missed a month of the season in at-bats. He was doing really, really good."Everybody's going through something. These guys have, the last whatever of the season, have really grinded at-bats one through nine. They really fed off each other. 'I don't have to do it. I just need to pass it to the next guy. If I can make our situation -- whether it's a walk or hit by pitch or fight like heck with two strikes and make that guys work -- if I can make my at-bat productive then we got a lineup one through nine that can contribute.' That's what these guys have done.
