It impressed even more now. To any of those students in a robotics class that may have caught a glance of a colossal figure outside the windows, yes, that was one of the all-time college football greats peeking through.The town has changed since he left it, but the pull of the Huskers remains the same as ever was for anyone who wore the uniform."I always have my alerts on just from scores and things of that nature," Suh said Friday on the day he was one of six former athletes being inducted into the Nebraska Athletics Hall of Fame."But I think more specifically with Dylan (Raiola), outside of him being the quarterback, which everyone knows, he's like a nephew to me – and family at the end of the day. With his dad and me being so close and being able to see the successes. Then also being able to have the relationship with Coach Rhule and being able to see what his ultimate vision is to grow and get this program back to its promise and being elite status."Suh played with <a href="https://247sports.com/Player/dominic-raiola-76279/">Dominic Raiola</a> and can recall the Raiola kids when they were just a few rulers high off the ground.So that's sure something seeing them now. So is getting to watch his old team practice. He has a good connection with Nebraska's head coach <a href="https://247sports.com/Coach/matt-rhule-1095/">Matt Rhule</a>."Overall, I want to continue to support where I can, especially if I'm wanted, and go from there," Suh said.He took it as a great compliment when Rhule this week spoke not only of Suh's obvious football greatness but what an example he provides to others of always finding avenues to pursue and excel at outside the lines."It's really a great powerful message for our guys when your players see that the best days of their lives aren't their recruiting rankings, or not how they were drafted. Each thing should be better than the next," Rhule said. "Life after football should be the ultimate. Ndamukong comes in with a beautiful wife and great kids doing amazing things – he's a tremendous role model."Suh said he really enjoys his conversations with Rhule and that they don't all revolve around football."Because he's a guy that looks at these kids as humans and young adults and wants to help them grow to be young men," Suh said. "And obviously I'm sure he supports the other organizations and teams as well from that standpoint. But ultimately I want to mentor any and every kid that I can. I wouldn't have been able to have that success if I didn't have mentors or guys like Dominic Raiola, Kyle Vanden Bosch. I just ran into <a href="https://247sports.com/Player/daniel-bullocks-69885/">Daniel Bullocks</a>, for example, who was my big brother when I first stepped on campus here."And I remember he picked me up in his car and showed me the ropes and he was an elite guy. He's now coaching for the 49ers. So those relationships and mentors that were afforded to me, I want to be able to afford it to the other guys and them have my cell phone numbers and be able to keep in contact and ask me questions – whatever it may be."Suh praised his teammates at <a href="https://247sports.com/college/nebraska/">Nebraska</a> and guys who helped him earn this weekend's honor.Zach Potter, Prince Amukamara, David Harvey. Just a few teammates he mentioned. They pushed him, bonded with him and kept him humble as well.And even after all his successes at the next level, there remains pride in having been a Blackshirt too."It's something I carry with a lot of weight, so obviously those guys carrying that tradition. And I mentioned to Coach Rhule, we've got to continue to be that pipeline. And he recalls fondly the interception he had on that rainy night at Missouri that sparked a 27-point fourth-quarter outburst for a Husker win."I just love being able to interact with people and have good conversations when I am in and around the airport, and traveling around the world," Suh said. "I spend time in the UK for work and I spend time all over the States doing different things. Running into Husker fans and college football fans in general is always fun."His twins boys and wife top the list of life's good things right now.From a business perspective, he had a development company working on vertical integration in the construction industry. He is also doing some commentating work and a few weeks ago covered the Vikings-49ers game."A lot of exciting things and there's many more things in the pipeline," Suh said.Along the way, an eye will be on the Huskers and of course that 'nephew' Dylan."Dom and I, between him and Kyle – Kyle more so on the football side was on top of me, we're in the same meeting rooms and all those types of things. But when it came to Dominic, he was trying to beat me up in practice literally, which was great," Suh said of their time together with the Detroit Lions. "Because I knew he was never going to hurt me or anything from that standpoint. But then we would go out and socialize … and he showed me the ropes of being a professional. You want to go have fun, you still get up early in the morning and take care of your business. And he is one of the best at that."On Friday he saw Dominic's oldest daughter, Taylor, who is working as a graduate manager in Nebraska's recruiting department."It's crazy just to see her, Dylan. It's insane to see them grow up and be young adults now." As for Dylan's talents, Suh laughed and, "It's in the genes and I think it's more so on his mom's side than his dad's."Dylan Raiola is part of a mission to get Husker football back in top-tier status and Suh seemed encouraged by the direction of the program.Suh got to watch some of Friday's walk-through practice before the game against Rutgers."I love where Coach Rhule is taking this program just from a standpoint of physical play and leading it by defense, because if you want to win championships you know you got to have a strong of defense. And then understanding that you obviously got to have talent on the offensive side of the ball as well. But it's going to come down to fundamentals, and that's what I see," he said.Most important to him, Suh could see Rhule's words were matching up with players' actions. The big man got to speak a little with those Husker defensive linemen too."I want to spend more time, I want to be intimate with them and let them have a little bit more of myself with anything I can help."It's a deep catalogue of knowledge. Even a tip on stiff-arming a Colorado quarterback if needed.</div></body>
